Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) at Monterey’s Center for the Blue Economy (CBE) promotes a sustainable ocean and coastal economy through leadership in research, analysis, and education. The center helps organizations examine how ocean and coastal resources can further support economic development and better understand the economics of climate change in coastal regions. Based in Monterey, CA, the CBE launched in 2011 with seed capital from the Loker Foundation.

 

 

University of California Berkeley College of Natural Resources (CNR) serves society by generating and disseminating knowledge in the biological, physical, and social sciences in order to provide the tools to both protect the Earth's natural resources and ensure economic and ecological sustainability for future generations. The Loker Foundation established a Graduate Award, which supports graduate students in the College of Natural Resources working on marine sustainability.

 

 

California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) provides a wide range of medical services for individuals in downtown Los Angeles and its neighboring communities. Founded in 1887, CHMC is dedicated to providing comprehensive health and wellness through its full-continuum of acute care services and community benefit programs. The medical center is also known as one of the busiest trauma centers and largest centers for births in Los Angeles County. The Loker Foundation contributed toward CHMC’s capital campaign to expand and modernize its downtown campus.

 

 

Middlebury College is a liberal arts college that serves undergraduate students in Middlebury, Vermont. The college is also known for its graduate programs at both the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) at Monterey and The Bread Loaf School of English, its immersion-based language studies at the Middlebury College Language Schools, and its overseas academic programs at the Middlebury C.V. Starr Schools Abroad. The Loker Foundation granted seed capital for the Fred F. Neuberger '50 Memorial Scholarship Fund to support students participating in the February Admission program.


 
 
 

 

Schools of the Sacred Heart San Francisco is a collection of two gender-specific independent K-12 preparatory schools in San Francisco, Convent of the Sacred Heart and Stuart Hall. As members of the Schools of the Sacred Heart, both schools commit themselves to educate young women and men to effect broad-reaching social change. The unique partnership between Convent and Stuart Hall enables both schools to operate single-sex classes in a coeducational environment. The Loker Foundation contributes toward operational expenses and financial support for families in need.

 

 

Monterey Bay Aquarium is a nonprofit public aquarium located in Monterey, California. Established in 1984, the aquarium has worked to protect ocean life for future generations by inspiring young and old with the beauty and wonder of the ocean. The aquarium is known for its Conservation & Science Programs and its Seafood Watch, which helps consumers and businesses select seafood that’s fished or farmed in ways that support a healthy ocean. The Loker Foundation supports research activities to preserve and rehabilitate marine life as well as tackle some of the most critical issues affecting ocean health.

 

 

OnePurpose School (OP) is a public charter school dedicated to disrupting the cycle of poverty in San Francisco’s most underserved communities by preparing students to go to, and graduate from, college. Established in 2015, the school began with Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. OP’s long term vision is to expand through 12th Grade while providing all students with access to an excellent K-12 education. The Loker Foundation provides scholarship and financial aid for students in need.
